Pleasant River Lumber Company is a 100% U.S. owned, family-operated sawmill producing
85 million board feet of spruce dimension lumber annually. Our lumber is sold primarily
along the Eastern seaboard by truck and rail. Our sales and transportation are handled
by the same people ensuring a smooth delivery in the timeframe promised. In addition,
our close proximity to major highways and the availability of two separate rail
sidings gives us the flexibility of using multiple carriers to transport our product
to market.
Pleasant River Lumber adheres to a strict quality control program. We grade lumber
to the North Eastern Lumber Manufacturer's Association (NELMA) grade rule in accordance
with the American Lumber Standard (ALS). Each of our graders is NELMA certified
and each piece of lumber is marked with a grader identification stamp enabling our
quality control team to monitor individual grader quality.
We believe every customer deserves a top quality product and that is why Pleasant
River Lumber has a no prior selection policy. We do not pull any select,
MSR, premium or #1 grade out of our lumber. When you buy a 2&b you get the full grade.
