In September of 2011 Pleasant River Lumber expanded its offerings to include Eastern White Pine with the purchase of a sawmill facility in Hancock, Maine. When acquired the site consisted of a modern sawmill facility, dry kilns, and a planning facility. Since the purchase, additional modernizations have been completed in the sawmill and a new drying facility has been constructed. The sawmill improvements included replacing obsolete equipment and adding optimization to improve production and efficiency. The new drying facility includes a sawdust fueled boiler and an additional 100,000 board feet (bf) of dry kilns. The site has been fully operational since January 2012 and has the capacity to saw, dry, and plane 12,000,000 bf of Eastern White Pine lumber annually.
